The logo's lower case letters, rfa, are intended to be an understated yet bold expression of the merger of the dynamic work of two exceptional architects, Richard Rauh, AIA, and Warren Freedenfeld, AIA, together with their outstanding Associates. The interplay of the letters symbolizes the melding of the very best that these two architects, as partners, provide to the architectural community.

The Dog and Cat Logos were originally designed and built as columns and column capitals for the Clark Animal Hospital in Rochester, New York. These stylized canine and feline logos became so popular, that rfa soon adopted them as its own logos for its specialized work in animal care architecture.
Today these two logos, especially the dog logo, are recognized throughout the United States as icons for exceptionally well designed veterinary hospitals, animal shelters, emergency and referral clinics, boarding and grooming facilities, wildlife rehabilitation centers, pet hotels and resorts, agility gyms, obedience schools, and retail pet stores. These logos have become synonymous with high quality animal care architecture.
