| "I have had the opportunity to work with Richard A. Rauh, AIA, of Rauhaus Freedenfeld & Associates, on two separate veterinary clinic design projects. The first was an emergency clinic that was built in 1994. The second project was the design of my own private practice in 2007. When it came time to design my practice, I had no doubt who I would use for the project. During my earlier experience with Rich, I found the process of practice design to be both rewarding and educational. From initial design and floor plan to finishing details of the interior, Rich was innovative and able to bring an individual flare to both of the hospitals I have designed with him. His plans were thorough which led to a construction phase that went smoothly. Both hospitals that I have designed with him have been met with positive comments from clientele and recognized by Veterinary Economics.
With both projects the construction phase was smooth and went ahead on schedule. I attribute this to the detail provided in the plans and Rich's ready availability to myself or the contractor if any questions arose. There is no doubt that construction is the most stressful stage in developing a new facility, but i was reassured having Rich on my side to answer questions and follow up on the accuracy of the contractors application of the plans. Once completed, Rich helped to evaluate the finished result to ensure that the project was completed as designed.
We have had great success at our new location, and I believe a large amount of the success can be attributed to our clients' impression of our facility and what they have told their friends that they have referred. It is my opinion that Rich's designs provide both a sense of professionalism and comfort to our clients."
